Earlier this month St. Giles’ Church was awarded the Heritage Design Award by Pontifract Civic Society. As part of a major re-ordering of the church, due to finish later this year, it was felt that the new access to the south door and the re-positioned North door both merited the award. Peter Taylor, Conservation, Environment & Planning Chair of Pontefract Civic Society said, “This is an excellent example of how to construct a compact attractive entrance that looks and works well"
