We enjoyed a wonderful black tie evening at the Centenary Pavilion  Leeds as St Giles' Church in Pontefract was one of the shortlisted projects for the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors 'Pro Yorkshire' awards in the conservation class. The awards showcase outstanding work in conservation and covers renovation or conservation to a new or original use. As part of a large scheme, the interior work on the church is still in progress, so this year's award considered the external works only, describing the project as having 'secured a continuing community presence with a long-term future at the heart of Pontefract'.
