We worked closely with Buxton Church in the Peak to develop this prominent Victorian building near the town centre as a focus for their mission to raise awareness and provide a place of welcome and support for the local community.

The main part of the ground floor of the building is now a community café, “The Source”, whilst the upper floor has been converted as a resource centre to provide people and finances for local, national and international Christian mission and social action. One of the principal challenges of the project was the insertion of a new lift facilitating access to all floors (including the basement) whilst maintaining the original stained glass rooflight and other architectural features. The works also included underpinning and tanking in the basement.
