We worked closely with the church community at Thorpe Hesley to formulate and deliver a scheme of urgent repairs to the Grade II C19 church. This included extensive masonry repairs, structural stabilisation, stained glass restoration, kitchen refit and re-roofing works. A tight budget and time constraints meant careful management of the project as the extent of works where reviewed once on site.

It was important to work sympathetically with the existing construction, carrying out extensive stone and mortar sampling and working closely with the skilled masons at Bridgett Conservation to establishing the original detailing and tooling which had all but been lost through heavy weathering.

The project received a Grant for Places of Worship from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
