Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet is a unique eighteenth and nineteenth century industrial works. By the beginning of the nineteenth century the site was one of the largest on Sheffield's rivers. The gazetteer for the site was required to complement the work undertaken by DBA Consulting on the Conservation Management Plan for the site. Each building unit was fully described including a brief historical development and a detailed, elemental, description of its external and internal features. The significance of each building unit in the context of the site was included, followed by a basic photographic record with each image annotated and its location identified on a plan
